ITANAGAR, Jan 3: The core committee of indigenous people against granting of Permanent Resident Certificate to Non-APST has served ultimatum to the state government to withdraw its statement on granting the same by January 7 next.
Addressing reporters here at Press Club, the chairman of core committee, Pei Topu said Arunachal is a protected state under Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation (BEFR) 1873 Act and it should not be violated.
Committee members further appealed the Assam Moran Student Union (AMSU) not to interfere in the internal affairs of Arunachal Pradesh. Interference by external unions or organizations is uncalled for and inappropriate, stated the Committee member.
Further, the committee also demanded the concern authority to apprehend those protesters of Lekang constituency who attempted to block the National Highway 52 recently.
