3rd Bharat Lok Sangeet Arunachal Utsav connects with youth
ITANAGAR, Nov 23: The Pare Project Downstream Welfare Committee (TPPDWC) on Friday announced to launch a series of democratic protests starting from November 30 at the premises of Head of Project Office(HOP), NEEPCO limited, Doimukh against alleged indifferent attitude of NEEPCO towards a memorandum submitted on November 6 last.
The committee which represents all the project affected owners and villagers of Rose, Chiputa, Manni, Lekha and Midpu have been demanding NEEPCO to build a protection wall around vulnerable WRC and plantation fields due to the proposed dam, restoration of wire suspension bridge in different locations in the downstream areas etc.
According to the committee, if all these things are overlooked then the water coming from the dam will devastate the fragile ecosystem on which villagers rely for their livelihoods.
