ITANAGAR, Apr 21: One out of the two accused who were filmed killing a King Cobra has been arrested by police.
The duo on April 18 last killed the snake near Old Suspension Bridge, Pachin Colony in Naharlagun and the video of this act went viral. The wildlife team of Lobi Wildlife Range led by Range Forest Officer Tadar Raju with the help of local police, conducted a house-to-house search to nab the absconding duo. 
Killing of King Cobra comes under Schedule II species that has penal provisions of not less than three years imprisonment which may extend up to seven years in addition to a fine of not less than Rs 25000. The hunt for the other accused is on. DIPRO
