3rd Bharat Lok Sangeet Arunachal Utsav connects with youth
AALO, Nov 20: Central Mopin Preservation and Cultural Society (CMPCS), a livewire apex body, has been striving hard for more than a decade in preserving and promoting indigenous festival and culture.
The society is manned by a mixed blend of people, folklorists, well versed in traditional culture and faith, and dedicated workers to gear up for the task of documentation and preservation of age old indigenous festivals and culture through laid down regulations on mode of celebration of festivals like Mopin and Nyirmen.
The mantle of the task, which was handled by Degam Ete, president, Tumto Ete, Secretary and team of workers, has been handed over to the incoming president Mijum Lona and Secretary Advocate Gekar Angu in a function held at Gumin Kiin on Monday.
The outgoing and incoming presidents of CMPCS and other members called upon each and every member of the society to abide by the rules and bylaws that govern the entire Galo community in the greater interest of maintaining and preserving the age old culture and tradition.
The presidents and secretaries of Sector Mopin Celebration Committees of Aalo township also attended the function.
