The party also held a two-minute silence in mark of the departed soul.
While deeply mourning the assassination of Tirong Aboh and 10 others, the Galo Peoples' Front (GPF) today vociferously condemned the dastardly act of the militant group involved and appealed both the governments at the Centre and state to take strongest steps to tow away the  evils and their diabolical designs from the state. It stated that there was never ever any iota of militancy in Arunachal and never ever would be accepted by its people.
Citing the incident as an eye opener for all Arunachalees inclusive of politicians, their supporters, voters, government officials and common people, the GPF expressed a grim concern over the inroads of militancy in politics of Arunachal that too allegedly from the neighbouring state of Nagaland. It rued that democracy has been invaded with money and guns by some greedy politicians, which must be discouraged by every citizen of the state already  overburdened with refugee problem, CAB and PRC.
Meanwhile, the Nefa Indigenous Human Rights Organisation (NIHRO) while vehemently condemning the brutal attack and assassination of Tirong Aboh and conveying deep condolences to the deceased family, has called it a political killing resulting out of a nexus between the political class and  extremist elements which has brought in an era of vindictive politics in the state.
In the present case, Late Tirong Abo was reported to be facing serious security threats from the beginning of his election campaign, yet the state government did not accord him additional security. Chief Secretary and DIG who were handling the overall administration must be held responsible for the security failure and NIHRO demands immediate transfer of the incumbent Chief Secretary and DGP from the state, the press release said.
The last rites of Tirong Aboh and 10 others will be performed on May 24 in a traditional way.
