PASIGHAT, Mar 21: Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Kinny Singh has appealed the citizens of East Siang District as a whole to follow “Janta Curfew” on 22 March from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm with a mission to combat the widespread COVID-19.
“As measure of self-restrain and social distancing every citizen should keep voluntarily confine to respective residences as urged by Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India”, she said.
However, the DC added that officers and staff engaged in essential services and staff deployed for the purpose of screening of passengers/visitors shall perform their designated duties and responsibilities as usual.
DC Singh has reiterated not to spread rumor or misleading items in social media but to post only verified and authentic messages in public interest. Any person defying the Home Quarantine Order may be prosecuted under Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897,U/S 188 IPC. Checking and screening has been intensified. Doctors, nurses, para medical staff, police personnel and officers are working tirelessly in the district and DC Dr. Kinny Singh is closely monitoring all development.
Meanwhile ADC Mebo Hage Lailang today convened a coordination meeting which was attended by the Mebo MLA Lombo Tayeng, EACs (Dev & Jud) and CO Namsing. The MLA was briefed on preparedness by the officers.
After reviewing the situation, MLA Tayeng asked the administration to take all possible steps to contain spread of COVID-19 and donated his three months’ salary for the cause. DIPRO
