Itanagar, Nov 20: The two-day state level 27th Children’s Science Congress, which is an initiative of NCSTC, New Delhi & DST concluded today here at the Arunachal Pradesh Science Centre.
The programme was organized by Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology, Department of Science & Technology, GoAP. Out of 73 registered projects, 68 projects based on the focal theme “Science, Technology and Innovation for a Clean, Green & Healthy Nation” from different schools of various districts of Arunachal were presented by the children in the age group of 10-17 years focusing on solutions to the local problems. Out of the 68 projects presented, 10 best projects are going to be presented at the national level being organized atThriuvannathpuram from December 27 to December 31, 2019 and the two best projects will also participate at Indian Science Congress being held during the month of January 2020.
The best of the 10 projects are:Joram Nanu(VKV Joram- Lower Subansiri)- 1st, Bisen Bellai(VKV Amliang, Anjaw)- 2nd, Modi Eru(VPS Daporijo, Upper Subansiri)-3rd, Binu Soki(VKV Ziro, Lower Subansiri)- 4th, Gusan Tamai(VKV Amliang, Anjaw) 5th, Bengia Aru(VKV Koloriang, Kurung Kumey) 6th, Dakto Basar(VKV Basar, Lepa Rada)- 7th, Tai Atup(GHSS Nyapin, Kurung Kumey) 8th, Likha Ania(Likha Ania, Lower Subansiri) -9th and Toyir Lollen (GHSS Aalo, West Siang)- 10th.
The valedictory function was presided over by Director cum Member Secretary, A. P. State Council for Science & Technology, C.D. Mungyak.While appreciating the effort of the council in organizing the event for the child scientists, he appreciated the dedication and hard work of the teachers and students all these months and making to the state level science congress with their unique ideas, knowledge and creativity.
The projects were evaluated by a team of evaluators comprisingAssociate Professor, Department of CEC Dr. A. Dhinamani Singh, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Physics,Dr.Kunal Borah and Assistant Professor, Agricultural Engineering, NERIST, Nirjuli Dr. Tage Tapang.
