NAMSAI, Jun 21: A two-member bench of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), today conducted its sitting here, the first of its kind in the entire Northeast.
The members from NCPCR who chaired the hearing were Yashwant Jai and Rosy Taba with representatives and NGOs as well as government officials from at least eleven districts like Namsai, Lohit, Anjaw, Tirap, Changlang, Longding, East Siang, Upper Siang, Siang, Dibang Valley and Lower Dibang Valley attending the hearing.
During the sitting, NCPCR took cognizance of various complaints against child rights violation in the state being filed by various organizations. After daylong hearing of various cases, the Commission assured to look into the grievances and also directed the state government to act appropriately wherever there is need for protection of child rights.
