Roing, Feb 16: The child rights awareness campaign on Child Marriage, Trafficking, Safe Touch and Unsafe Touch, Child Helpline 1098, and Child Labour was conducted at several government schools of Lower Dibang Valley with the aim of educating students about their rights and responsibilities as children.
The campaign took place on February 15-16 and involved various sessions focused on raising awareness and promoting child rights. LPO Dr. Tilu Linggi highlighted the District Child Protection Unit’s roles and responsibilities.
The objective was to educate students about their rights as outlined in the convention on the Rights of the child and to empower students to recognize and advocate for their rights in various contexts.
The programmes were attended by 244 teachers, hostel wardens and students.
