ITANAGAR, Aug 20: Reacting to the allegations of corruption as levelled by the Joint Committee of Agnawadi and Asha Workers (JCAAW) against the Department of Women and Child Development, the Arunachal Pradesh Child Development Project Officers' Welfare Association (APCDPOWA) today refuted them as baseless.
The association stated that the allegations levelled by JCAAW President Yasi Nalo Sonam are far from facts and have been made without any proper knowledge of the government schemes, guidelines and procedures. The association also demanded unconditional apology from the JCAAW President for criminally intimidating all CDPOs failing which it will resort to legal action. It further stated that the statement of JCAAW President has hurt the sentiments of all dedicated officers who serve the most vulnerable sections of society, i.e women and children, old aged, widow and differently-abled citizens of the state.  CDPOs have always treated AWWs, AWHs in the most professional and humane manner and the allegations of mistreating AWWs and AWHs are unfounded and false, the press release stated.

APCDPOWA has also clarified that the schemes are being implemented properly by the Department Officers in close coordination with the Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers in a very purposeful manner. WCD Department is the first department to implement PFMS and honorariums of AWWs, AWHs are given through DBT mode to maintain utmost transparency, it said.
