Aalo, Oct 20: The Galo Ane of West Siang district organized a Charity Show under the aegis of Galo Welfare Society (GWS) at Gumin Kiin on October 19 last in aid of the Nyirmen Festival to be celebrated here on November 5 next.
President, Galo Ane, Kenbi Jini Bagra disclosed that the show was conducted by the women as a part of resource mobilization drive in the run-up to the festival so that it could be celebrated on a self-help basis by the women folk. The women team collected mountain spring water for drinking purposes instead of using plastic water bottles in order to discourage use of plastic in the district. The use of spring water, which is also a tradition is said to have many health benefits.
Various cultural items on different themes were presented by the tiny tots of schools and women from different colonies. DIPRO
