ITANAGAR, Oct 26: The Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC) and Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Sunil Lanba, called on Arunachal Pradesh Governor BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan on Thursday.
Welcoming the guest, the Governor said that his visit to the frontier state of Arunachal Pradesh reinforces the sense of security amongst the people. He expressed his hope that border security challenges of the state particularly on northern borders will be taken care of by the COSC.
Congratulating the young achievers, the Governor said that it is great incentives to be facilitated by the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee, who is the head of all service chiefs.
Speaking on the occasion, Chowna Mein Deputy Chief Minister highlighted on migration of population from border areas and advocated for expediting the frontier road projects and other developmental programmes.
In his address, the COSC recalled his earlier visits and lauded the people of the state for their culture, simplicity and nationalism. He appreciated the Military-Civil synergy in the state. He assured to take up the issues of infrastructure development in the state with the Central Government, when he returns to the national capital.
Earlier, Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee felicitated achievers of the state, who included beauty pageant Chum Darang, author Gumlat Mayo, singer Chochung Dema Thungon, martial artist Dingjamso Tawsik, wildlife film maker Tallo Antony, singer Jelly Kaye, theater activist & actor Tai Tugung and entrepreneur Tage Rita Take.
First Lady of the State Neelam Misra, president, Navy Wives Welfare Association Reena Lanba, Chief Secretary Satya Gopal, Commissioner to Governor Dr. M. Surya Prakash, Naval Attaché to Chief of the Naval Staff Commodore Sanjay Bhalla and Commander 56 Div Brig. AK Borah were present among others.
