Namsai, Jan 18: In the wake of the incident between two individuals on January 13 last that escalated into a community brawl, a peace agreement was signed between the Tai Khampti Singpho Council and Adivasi Communities of Namsai District today.
Subsequent upon the signing of peace agreement between the stakeholders, withdrawal of all the cases with regard to the incident and maintaining status quo between the two communities have been agreed upon.
A joint memorandum was also submitted to the Deputy Commissioner, Namsai for seeking compensation to the victims of the incident. The DC assured to extend all possible help and to further address their demands to the competent authority.
The agreement was signed in the presence of DC, Namsai , SP Namsai and CBOs representing the two communities.
