Doimukh, Sep 27: The Career Counseling & Placement Cell of Rajiv Gandhi University organized a career guidance cum Motivational Talk programme in association with Helping Hands & Alternative Learning System, New Delhi at its campus on Wednesday which was attended by 600 plus students of the university and from neighbouring affiliated Govt. College Doimukh.
Speaking on the occasion the Vice-Chancellor of RGU Prof. Saket Kushwaha said that such programmes play a role of pathfinder for many confused aspirants and assured that it will be made a regular programme henceforth. He also narrated about the core contribution of the university through teaching, learning, research and community services.
Interacting with the students, the Special Commissioner of Police, Delhi Armed Police and President of Helping Hands NGO Robin Hibu IPS, who also happens to be an alumni of Rajiv Gandhi University, while giving an overview on career options with special focus on trying "out of the box" spoke at length about the preparedness of students for competitions as a Resource Person. Hibu, in his deliberations suggested that one should choose friends wisely for achieving higher goals and to do SWOT analysis of self. He asked the students to refrain from excessive use of mobile phones and encouraged them to use it only to enhance their knowledge.
Speaking about his mantra for good health, he told the house to become an early riser and urged all not to forget their roots, and be ambassadors of their native place. He also handed over his autobiography to the Vice-Chancellor and Registrar of RGU. 
The other resource person, the Executive Director of ALS, New Delhi, Manish K. Gautam, also addressed the audience.
Both the guests attended the series of queries from the students covering various facets during a lively interaction with the participants in a Q&A Session and cleared all the doubts & queries of the participants.
Earlier, the Registrar of RGU while welcoming the guests and resource persons briefed about the university. The Professor in-charge of Placement Cell Prof. Tasi Kaye, Coordinator of Career Counseling Cell of RGU and organizing secretary of the event Prof. Boa Reena Tok and Placement Officer of RGU Sushmita Chanda also spoke. In the sideline of the programme Member Secretary of the Placement Cell & Joint Registrar of RGU Dr. David Pertin was all praise for the most decorated man in uniform from the state Robin Hibu IPS and said that listening to him live has definitely ignited many minds both young and old alike.
