NAHARLAGUN, Dec 13: The capital police while informing of the constant vigil on illegal gambling activities in the twin capital cities has warned violators of legal action.
‘Police has been keeping vigil on the illegal gambling which is being reported from nook and corner of colonies and people should refrain from organising or involving in the same or face legal action,’ said Capital SP M Harsha Vardhan.
He appeal the denizens to inform police whenever they find illegal activities in and around their neighbourhood.
Vardhan inform that Naharlagun Police Station team under OC Inspector Kiksi Yangfo with active participation of Inspector Tadu Hassang, SI K Dev, SI Sushant Jha has intensified measures against gambling. Police team conducted a surprise raid at Sunday market near Helipad in Naharlagun and seized gambling materials.
The SP informed that market organizers have been asked not to allow such activities or else they will face action.
Expressing displeasure over gambling at various places in Naharlagun, he called for regular and strict action stating ‘the general public also need to be alert against the bad affect of gambling by individuals in the community and society.
