ITANAGAR, Feb 2: Acting on a tip-off, the capital Police arrested two suspected drug peddlers and busted several locations today.
After receiving information of sale of drugs in a rented house at Kongko village near Chimpu,Itanagar, a team of police led by Additional SP Harsh Indora (IPS), SDPO Itanagar Kamdam Sikom, Inspr D Bagra OC Itanagar Lady Sub Inspector Millo Sumpi along with IRBN & CRPF Jawans under the close supervision of SP Capital Tumme Amo raided the said apartment and arrested the two peddlers.
The arrested have been identified as Techi Tasap, 25 from Bath Village and Techi Taram, 24 of Kongko Village,Chimpu. Police nabbed the duo with suspected brown sugar approx (8.5 gm ) from their possession packed in 46 numbers of small plastic tubes including other items.
During interrogation, the duo disclosed various spots post which Police team raided several houses of drug sellers at Chimpu, Lower Chimpu, Jullang, Vivek Vihar area of Itanagar.
However, no person has been arrested as the drug sellers were not present in the houses and no contraband substances were found except for empty used tubes, silver foil papers etc, informed SP Tumme Amo.
Police has registered a case vide- ITA/ PS / Case No-37/2020 U/S 21 IPC, added the SP while appealing the public to give inputs and information on various crimes like drug trafficking, car lifting, thefts, etc in and around the capital.
‘We will keep the identity of the informer secret and they will be suitably rewarded also,' said the SP.
