ITANAGAR, Jun 20:Large quantity of beer cans were seized from youngsters and disposed off at the spot by a team of capital police accompanied by CRPF Jawans led by SDPO Itanagar K Sikom in a surprise checking conducted within the premises of Indira Gandhi Park, Gompa and Hanging Bridge Chandranagar Itanagar today.

No arrest has been made however police took photographs of each person found with beer cans and issued strict warning to put them behind bars if found involved in such activities next time.

The drive was conducted following direction given by SP Capital Sagar Singh Kalsi to sensitize youth who are involved in unethical practices such as drinking alcohol, smoking cannabis and loitering in the premises of IG Park Itanagar.

Further the SDPO exhorted for collective effort from every section of society in maintaining the beauty of the lone park.
