ITANAGAR, Jul 13: The 1st meeting of the Capital Nagrik Bhaichara Samity under newly posted Capital Superintendent of Police  M Harsha Vardhan was  held here today.

Various common and general grievances of public and important issues of the denizens of the twin capital cities and entire capital complex was discussed minutely and various remedies suggested by the members concerned.

Harsha Vardhan said that every government policy/programme, police and administrative works would be successful with the participation of the  public and their active support and cooperation and added that Itanagar being the capital city of the state various other issues are also confronting the speedy development and in some case these are hindrance in maintaining of law and order, peace and tranquility, communal harmony among the citizen.

He said  the Itanagar Traffic Warden (ITW) system is being streamlined and traffic menace would also be reduced if the commuters park their vehicles properly. “We may face some problems due to construction of four lane road in the city and I call upon all to take the bypass road also. The ITW are also provided with refresher course in Police Training Center on batch wise for the mental/physical upliftment and  traffic rules, etc, “ he said.

He emphasised on creating  Resident Welfare Committees/Association (RWC/A) in all colonies and sectors of the capital complex which shall also coordinate the capital police as well as capital administration for the smooth functioning of all activities and support the police in maintaining peace, tranquility and communal harmony and minimising criminal activities in the capital city.

SDPO Itanagar Kamdam Sikom and SDPO Naharlagun Make Bui elaborated on various law and order issues, issues related to public awareness among the citizens, youths and students, business establishments and traffic menace.
