Itanagar, Jun 23 : Capital Complex Dree Football Tournament-2019 came to a colourful end today with Supung Ajing United (SAU) and Khonkhung ‘B’ emerging as champions of the Open and Veteran categories respectively.
In the Open category Supung Ajing United beat Miichi United via penalty shoot-out in an enthralling contest played here at Battalion Head Quarters (BHQ) football ground, Chimpu. Both the teams where locked with one goal each till the expiry of extra time. Tage Tath (SAU) and Hage Talo (Miichi FC) scored one goal each in the regulation time. Tamo Bida of Supung Ajing was adjudged the Player of the Tournament while Rubu Payang of the same team was declared the Best Goalkeeper. Sports Generation, Ziro was awarded the Fair Play Team of the tournament.
Meanwhile in the Veteran category, Khonkhung ‘B’ emerged champions beating Paatw ’B’ via two goals scored by Habung Nyikang and Pura Deilyang. Koj Tatung and Tamo Apa, both of Khonkhung ‘B’ were declared the Player of the Tournament and Best Goalkeeper respectively. Ball Tula FC was awarded the Best Disciplined Team of the championship for their consistent performance and maintaining team spirit throughout the tournament. Newsdesk
