ITANAGAR, Jan 17: A meeting to discuss issues such as ILP checking, traffic management system and to work out ways to improve traffic system in Capital Region was held today here at the Office Chamber of the Deputy Commissioner, Itanagar Capital Complex Komkar Dulom.
SP Capital Tumme Amo, EAC Itanagar Hengo Basar, EAC Naharlagun Ashok Tajo, DTO (MV) Ch. Wangsu, CO Naharlagun Laxmi Dodum, SDPO Naharlagun Rike Kamsi, SDPO Itanagar Kamdam Sikom, OCs of Itanagar PS & Traffic and officials from the traffic department attended the meeting. DC while highlighting that the system of haphazard parking of vehicles during peak hours is one of the main reason of traffic congestion in Capital Region, directed the officers to personally monitor traffic flows during peak hours. He added that violators should be issued challans promptly and forwarded to court for further action and stressed that traffic wardens should perform their duties properly with devotion. He also proposed to use drone to monitor traffic movement of Naharlagun as a pilot project. While mentioning that parking and no parking zones have already been notified which requires strict compliance, DC asked all traffic officers and officials to implement the same strictly. Proper marking of parking space, putting up of signage’s, etc. shall be done after March 2020 after completion of black topping from Raj Bhawan to Chandranagar Stretch of NH-415, he informed and appealed the public and motorists to cooperate with the administration. Stressing that ILP checking should be done on a fortnightly basis every month, DC also called for taking action against those without valid ILP and divulged that both online and offline ILP issuance systems shall be revamped with more emphasis on technologically advanced and innovative methods so that cases of fake ILPs and violators could be detected easily.
In future, the database of ILP holders shall be developed and utilized to obtain real time information about them and at times of renewals, he added. DIPRO
