Itanagar, Mar 22: With an aim to generate awareness on free and fair elections, the Capital Complex District Administration will be conducting a series of events under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP).
Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Gupta has appealed to the denizens of the Capital Complex to participate in a mini marathon which would be conducted on March 31 in collaboration with the Department of Sports . He further informed that cash prizes would also be awarded to the winners.
A debate competition on the topic 'Has Arunachal truly evolved as a vibrant democracy since last 32 years' would also be conducted in various colleges of Capital Complex. The winners would then compete amongst themselves at inter-college level. Such events would help instil a sense of understanding amongst the students about their rights to exercise voting in a free and fair manner, DC hoped.
More of such events have been lined up for creating awareness amongst citizens like placing audio visual display vans in pockets where polling percentage in last elections was less than 50%. DIPRO
