ITANAGAR, Jul 12: In view of the extension of lockdown till July 20 next, the District Administration, Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) has issued directives for opening and closing of shops in sectors and colonies.
Speaking to reporters, DC, ICR, K Dulom informed that for essential commodities shops in colonies and sectors will be allowed to open from 9am to 5pm on 13th & 14th July and 17th July next with shopkeepers and customers required to maintain all SOPs such as use of mask, sanitizer and social distancing.
Elaborating on the reason behind the decision, the DC said ' This will allow residents to buy essential commodities since lockdown has been extended. Most importantly it will enable to intensify  the extensive contact tracing of primary and secondary  contacts to  contain the spread of a COVID-19.  If we detect any cases then we can easily contain it to the particular colony or sector.' 
No shops, vegetables vendors and meat sellers will be allowed in the main market / daily market areas like Akashdeep,Ganga,Gandhi Market, C-sector, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and others. However, wholesale shops can operate provided they have to sell items only to the retailers with monitoring team present to check adherence to SOPs.
'Moreover, during this Lockdown we will continue sero testing for frontline workers, as there is report that beside detection of positive cases from quarantine center, there are some cases which have been detected from outside the QC,' stated the DC while appealing the people not to venture out until it is an emergency. DC also added that, the movement of officers/officials of DCMO & Finance are allowed as they are included under the exemption category. For attending emergent works including Centrally Sponsored Schemes, other offices and officials in Civil Secretariat/Directorate will be allowed to move as they are permitted to work with the prior approval of Chief Secretary as per government order.

The officers/officials of State/Central Government posted to Arunachal Pradesh from other parts of India are allowed to enter Itanagar Capital Region, however, they shall strictly follow the laid down SOP , stated DC.
Further speaking on heavy commercial vehicles, DC informed that in view of heavy monsoon the movement of all heavy vehicles shall be allowed from Banderdewa Gate.
