ITANAGAR, Mar 9: A candlelight procession from Ganga to Tennis Court was organized here today to pay homage to the three youths killed by security personnel in the recent protest against the issuance of PRC to Non-APSTs.
Hundreds of participants from all walks of life voluntarily participated in the rally, which was being organized under the aegis of victims’ families.
Later several speakers addressing a mammoth gathering here at the main ground IG Park voiced against the atrocities by police personnel on innocent citizens voicing their rights and called for speedy inquiry and exemplary punishment against perpetrators.
The speakers included Biki Talung, brother of late Biki Ruja, Risso Tasu and Risso Kiagong, elder brothers of Late Risso Tari.
Reiterating their demand for early handover of security personnel responsible for the death of the trio, the aggrieved families also requested the political parties not to politicize the sacrifice made by the three youths.
“If the government fails to hand over the perpetrators within the set deadline we will resort to rigorous democratic movement to press for our demands,” Kiagong said.
