PASIGHAT, Feb 24: Showing solidarity and to pay homage to the departed soul of late Katem Dai who was killed at Guwahati by a college mate, a peaceful candlelight march was carried out from playground of D. Ering Memorial Govt. Hr. Sec. School to Gandhi Chowk, main market here in his home town Friday evening in which hundreds of people from all walks of life participated. A one minute silence was also observed to pay homage to the departed soul.

 

Adiland & Upright Peoples’ Organization, President, Mongol Yomso, All Bogong Students’ Union, President, Baku Tamin, AUPO East Siang President, Bapir Perme and ABK E/Siang WW President, Yalem Taga Burang etc spoke during the candlelight march and appealed the concern authorities both at Assam and Arunachal to give justice to late Katem Dai by giving punishment as per law of the land. However, Yomso urged fellow Adis not to give the situation a communal colour.

 

As support to the candlelight march and to the bereaved family members, Adi Mising Coordination Committee, Guwahati (students), JNC Student Union, Nyishi students studying in JNC and Govt. Polytechnic College besides Bogong Banggo Yameng Kebang, All Bogong Students’ Union (E), civil societies, traders etc also joined in the march.
