TEZU, Oct 25: The Cultural & Literary Society of Mishmi (CALSOM) organized its eighth felicitation programme to felicitate the toppers of Class X and XII of Mishmi community here at the Tamla-Du cultural hall on Wednesday.  

Among those felicitated were Lamingsi Kri 80% (Sc), Result Ama 72.2% (Arts), Namsamsai Billia 79.2% (Commerce) of Class XII and Khusi Kri 93%, Shinamlu Yun 94.4 % respectively of Class X.   

In his address, chief guest, Dasanglu Pul, Chairman APMDTCL and MLA Hayuliang appreciated the CALSOM for arranging the programme and hoped that such event will encourage students to excel in the academic field.

She also informed students about benefits being provided under flagship scheme ‘Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao’ programme. The MLA further donated Rs 1 lakh for the construction of ongoing school building of the CALSOM. Earlier in his welcome address, Beglelum Tega, Chairman CALSOM highlighted the annual performance of the society and also raised various confronting issues of the Mishmi and called for corrective measures in order to make Mishmi’s a progressive community.
