ITANAGAR, Jan 24: Nyishi Elite Society, President, Bengia Tolum said that Nyishis and Bodos enjoy emotional relationship since time immemorial and are closely knit together by matrimonial alliance.
Therefore, Tolum called for further strengthening the relationship between both the ethnic communities for prosperity. He was speaking at the 58th Annual Conference cum Cultural Exchange programme of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha which was held at Daimalu High School, Gohpur, Assam today. He further urged upon the Bodo community to preserve their rich cultural heritage under the guidance of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) and the All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU).
General Secretary, All Bodo Students’ Union, Lawrence Islary in his address strongly vouched for cultural exchange programme between the Bodos and Nyishis living on the border of the two states to strengthen relationship and to maintain mutual trust and respect.
Taren Bodo, President, BSS and Prasanto Boro, General Secretary, BSS, Biswajeet Daimary, MP (Rajya Sabha) from Assam, MLA’s and Members of BTAC and other dignitaries, educationists and social activists were present.
Later, the NES team had an interaction with the Greenfield Airport Land Affected Peoples Forum of Hollongi led by Nera Techi & Likha Taji, Chairman & General Secretary wherein President, NES appealed the landowners to part with their land for the important project and take up with appropriate authority for any injustice.
