Itanagar, Sep 6: The Cabinet Committee Meeting on Infrastructure chaired by Chief Minister Pema Khandu was held today attended by the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary(Finance, Planning & Investment), Secretary to Chief Minister, Secretary(Finance), Secretary (Planning & Investment) along with the Commissioners/ Secretaries and Chief Engineers of the concerned departments.
The meeting was convened to discuss project proposals of the Home, PWD, RWD, UD & Housing, PHE & WSD, WRD, Power and Hydropower departments against their respective 2019-20 budget allocations with special reference to new projects and schemes announced in this year’s budget and also the on-going projects announced in last year’s budget. The concerned departments through Power Point Presentations explained their implementation plans for various projects announced in budget which included the major ones like CM’s Comprehensive Road Development Plan (2019-2024), maintenance of PMGSY roads, creation of District Secretariat, Common Directorate Complex & Smart City (Itanagar & Pasighat), Water to All By 2024, modernization and strengthening of police force, upgradation of PTC, Banderdewa, Solid Waste Management in urban areas and other important projects that are a part of the current budget.
Modalities for monitoring of projects and ways and means to ensure quality of construction and their timely implementation were discussed during the meeting and it was also decided that all schemes and projects should be implemented as per Detailed Project Reports(DPRs) and departments should take up works strictly as per Allocation of Business Rule.
Chief Minister also stressed on proper coordination between nodal and executing departments for proper implementation of their deposit works. DIPRO
