BOMDILA, Jul 15: A new bus service was reintroduced today between Nafra administrative sub-division to district headquarters Bomdila in West Kameng with the flagging –off by local MLA Dongru Siongju and Nafra ADC KN Damo.
The 21 seater APSTS bus service has been reintroduced after more than a decade of its discontinuation.
On the sidelines of the flagging-off ceremony, the MLA informed that depending on road conditions, a departmental Xylo or Sumo service between Challan and Nafra via Janaching and Khazalang would be actively considered as these habitations are bereft of proper connectivity.
However, the onus of the upkeepment of the public property and payment of travel charges as prescribed by the department solely lies on the public and the commuters, he said.
He also appealed all to be a partner in the all round development of society.
Earlier, ADC Damo said that the introduction of the bus service was meant to provide dedicated and cheaper conveyance for the public and urged both the public and private transporters to maintain a healthy competition. DIPRO
