3rd Bharat Lok Sangeet Arunachal Utsav connects with youth
ITANAGAR, Oct 29: In the wake of much criticism from the general public blaming commercial building owners for obstructing the smooth construction of four laning of NH-415, the Itanagar commercial building affected owners welfare association (ICBAOWA) on Monday clarified that they are not in any way against the construction but are seeking fair compensation for their infrastructures.
The association alleged that the district administration without any prior notice and coming under huge pressure from the All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) issued an eviction notice for further widening of NH-415 from the earlier notified assessment of RoW by 12 to 15 meters (both sides).
The association also said that before conducting the eviction drive none of the building owners were called for a public hearing about the development They simply issued the notice and started the eviction drive haphazardly, it said in a release this evening.
The ICBAOWA further stated that they are neither against AAPSU nor the project, however, lamented that it would be unfair to demolish a structure worth lakhs and crores of rupees built by taking loans with heavy interest.
