BOMDILA, Mar 23:The much awaited Buddhist Cultural cum Conference Hall at Buddha Park Bomdila was today inaugurated by Japu Deru, the local Legislator cum advisor to the Chief Minister.

Terming as good fortune to be a part of the event, MLA Japu Deru opined that Buddhism is not all about monks, monasteries, gongs and trumpets only. Buddhism encompasses and symbolizes peace and welfare of all the living beings. Therefore, the Cultural cum Conference Hall should be the cradle of all welfare activities and other pioneering works for the people of the district irrespective of their religious affiliations. Buddhism as a whole could play a vital role in nation building, he added.

Acknowledging the role played by the Bomdila Buddhist Society in completion of the much awaited Cultural center, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Sonal Swaroop urged that every effort should be made to maintain the center in its pristine form. This is an asset of the district and we need to be responsible for it, she said.

Earlier, Bomdila Buddhist Society President DDTH Dorjee Phuntso seemingly elated at the completion of the center recounted on the contributions of the Deputy Commissioners and the support extended by fellow officers and public leaders. He hoped that, with the Buddhist Cultural cum Conference Hall operational, it would facilitate planning, shaping and execution of all the issues that would be taken up for the welfare of the people which thereby would contribute in its own way to the nation’s development.

Among others, DIG SSB S Kumar, ZPC C Lamu, administrative officers, HODs, public leaders, monks, Office bearers of Bomdila Buddhist Society and Engineers of WRD; who executed the work attended the inaugural function.
