Itanagar, Mar 19 (PTI): The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has inaugurated a bailey bridge in Arunachal Pradesh's Upper Subansiri district nearly 10 months after five personnel were killed during its construction, officials said on Thursday.
The 180-feet-long bridge over the Subansiri river on the Nacho-Tama Chung Chung road, inaugurated on Wednesday, will facilitate troop movement to forward locations along the India-China border, they said.
The bridge will also give a boost to tourism and socio-economic development of the local populace, the officials said.
Several other BRO personnel were injured in the accident that took place on May 11 last year.
