Hayuliang, Mar 7: The strategic road joining the interior border areas of Anjaw district has been connected with a superstructure steel bridge over the Kramti river located 65 km away from here.
The bridge was dedicated to the people by the Additional Director General BRO (ADGBR) (East) PKH Singh at Kramti today in a glittering ceremony in presence of DC Anjaw Dagbom Riba, Chief Engineer Project Udayak, Nazish OC 1444 Jitendra Prasad, EAC Hayuliang Lui Chiba, GREF officials, labourers and local people.
The newly constructed bridge has a span of 65 meters at Hayuliang-Changwanti road and is all-weather by structure for facilitating uninterrupted movement of defence personnel and civilians.
Talking to the media, Singh lauded the BRO officials and labourers for its timely completion despite several unforeseen hurdles.
“We have five steel bridges which are completed and are planning 16 more from Tidding to Kibithu to ensure smooth connectivity in the interior pockets of this border district,” Singh informed.
