ITANAGAR, Apr 17:  In a tragic incident, a class 10th boy, Nabam Aboh,16, drowned in Pare River near Doimukh at around 1 pm this afternoon.

Son of Nabam Ishwar of Parang village under Sagalee ADC headquarters, residing at Khola camp Midpu, the deceased and some of his friends had gone to the river for swimming when the fateful incident occurred.

His body was recovered at around 3.30 PM after the NDRF, Doimukh Police and NEEPCO officials were pressed into service. The lifeless body was later handed over to the family after following the mandatory procedures by the Police and Medical staff.          

Shocked and pained by the news of the unfortunate incident, Chief Minister Pema Khandu has expressed deep sorrow over the premature and sudden demise of a young school boy. He conveyed solidarity with the bereaved family members and prayed almighty to give them enough strength to bear this irreparable loss. He further announced immediate ex-gratia relief of Rs. 4 lakhs to the next of kin of the deceased from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.  

He also directed DC Yupia to immediately send a report on the entire incident.
