ITANAGAR, Feb 6: Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have conveyed their warm greetings to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Boori Boot Yullo.
Expressing hope that the festival will usher in good harvest, Governor in his message urged the younger generation to keep alive the age-old tradition of festivals.
In his festival message, Chief Minister joined the members of the Nyishi community in welcoming spring and thanked the Almighty for a bounteous harvest. “Boori Boot festival is our strongest link to our culture and therefore must be celebrated with traditional and ritualistic fervor and I specially request my young friends to join the revelry and become one with our rich culture and take pride of our roots,” he said. Reminding the importance of preserving and using indigenous languages in everyday life, he also urged all to take pride in them and preserve them for posterity. PRO Raj Bhavan, CMO
