ITANAGAR, May 5: In pursuance to the assurance given in the speech of the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh in the Legislative Assembly, an Autonomous Puroik Welfare Board is being constituted to work for the welfare of the Puroik Community under the Chairmanship of the Principal Secretary (Coordination), Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh. The other Members will be Biki Seji - Vice Chairman, Sari Changriang,  Seji Kale, Mesam Soja, Takia Soja and Tagu Sariu as nominees of Puroik Community, Secretaries of the Departments of SJETA, Rural Development, Labour & Employment, Director SJETA and two members from the Financial Institutions to be nominated by the Chief Minister.

The Board will study the socio-economic conditions of the Puroik community and ensure that all schemes of Central and State Government reach them and make specific recommendations to the State Government through Nodal Department, the Social Justice & Empowerment and Tribal Affairs, to achieve their all-round development and bring them into the mainstream of society like other tribal people of the state.
