Seppa, Jan 27: A series of Block Level Sensitization Training Programmes on Social Audit for Development functionaries of RD and PR Departments, GPDC, Village Interim Committee Members and SHG members of East Kameng and Pakke Kessang districts was kicked off today here by EAC Headquarters Ating Padung.
Padung while stressing on the importance of Social Audit as a mandatory provision under the MGNREGS Act for attaining transparency, accountability and proactive disclosure of information, requested the participants to acquire maximum knowledge and generate awareness to fellow members who couldn’t attend the programme. He further requested the RD and PR functionaries to strictly follow the prescribed guidelines so that funds reach the targeted participants.  
Assistant Director (RD & NRM) S.W. Bagang also the  faculty in-charge for the districts while briefing the objectives of the programme informed about the expected benefits of such Sensitization Training Programme on Social Audit to the participants. He added that after attaining training, participants shall be able to know the mandated provisions under MGNREGS, PMAY, indicative frameworks of Good Governance under MGNREGA, provisions under National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), concepts and process of Social Audit, facilitating Social Audit Gram Sabha (Jan Sunwai) etc.
BDO Seppa Block Radak Dada highlighted the benefits of Social Audit for smooth implementation of pro-poor MGNREG schemes at grassroots level and requested the fellow development functionaries to sensitize themselves about the basic tenets to facilitate Social Audit as and when they conduct in their block.Certified Master Resource Persons (MRPs) of East Kameng district Er.
