ITANAGAR, Apr 10:  Ahead of the polls, the National President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), JP Nadda, along with Chief Minister Pema Khandu, released the BJP's election manifesto for the Arunachal Assembly election. The manifesto includes numerous promises, ranging from job creation to infrastructure development in the state over the next five years.
Addressing the gathering on Wednesday, Nadda highlighted the positive changes witnessed in the state over the past five years and pledged to implement the Arunachal Pradesh Gati Shakti Master Plan in the coming five years. This plan aims to bolster infrastructure and spur development, with the goal of making Arunachal Pradesh the second-highest per capita income state among the northeastern states by 2047.
"The master plan will prioritize the enhancement of roads, railways, and airways to drive development, foster tourism, and promote culture. Our objectives include ensuring peace, expanding power generation through hydro and solar energy, advancing tourism, establishing 5G connectivity, promoting natural farming, supporting sports, and strengthening the state's capacity," Nadda stated. He also stated that BJP will make Arunachal Pradesh a leading hub in ethanol production by setting up a distillery.
In light of China's efforts to rename certain areas in Arunachal Pradesh, India has consistently rejected such claims and initiated significant projects to enhance defense infrastructure and connectivity in the border state, Nadda added.
Nadda announced a Rs. 1,000 crore project aimed at upgrading education infrastructure and standards, as well as an additional Rs. 1,000 crore investment for improving healthcare facilities. The party also pledged to create 25,000 jobs, both in the government and private sectors, for youths and women over the next five years. Furthermore, the manifesto includes initiatives such as providing LPG cylinders at Rs. 400 to Ujjwala cooking gas connection holders, offering financial incentives to encourage girls' education, among others.
"To promote employment, an IT park will be established in Itanagar, generating an additional 2,000 jobs. Additionally, we will organize a cultural festival annually to celebrate the state's cultural heritage. Emphasis will also be placed on enhancing infrastructure in border villages and positioning Arunachal Pradesh as a destination for adventure sports such as paragliding, rock climbing, and mountain biking. Furthermore, a statue of valor will be erected to honor the bravery and resilience of the people of Arunachal Pradesh," Nadda said.
