ITANAGAR, Sep 16:In a show of solidarity, the City Unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today held a contribution drive for the victims of Modirijo and Donyi Polo Colony who were affected by flash floods and landslide triggered by cloud burst on Friday last and appealed the capital dwellers to contribute generously in cash and kind.

Participating in the drive, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein while terming it an hour of grief, asked all to be prepared for such eventualities.

‘We need to be cautious and should prepare ourselves for such disasters and need to take preventive measures before it occurs. Government of Arunachal Pradesh is with the people in need and will extend all possible help and support to the victims,’ he said.

Extending solidarity with the victims, City BJP President Tarh Soping also appealed the people to come forward and support the victims.

State BJP President Tapir Gao, Minister Honchun Ngandam, MLAs Techi Kaso, Zingnu  Namchoom, Paknga Bage, Karya Bagang, Kardo Nyigyor, Olom Panyang and several others also participated and contributed cash for the victims. The donation drive was organised at the Legislative Assembly campus on Saturday.
