ITANAGAR, Jan 17: 12-Pakke Kessang AC legislator Biyuram Wahge has been appointed as the President of the State BJP Unit by BJP high command.
Wahge, a resident of village Dorlong and hailing from Seijosa in Pakke Kessang district has been with the saffron party for last many decades and had earlier served the party in various capacities and held the post of Vice President during the tenure of the outgoing President and MP Tapir Gao.
The appointment was made in a function held here at a city hotel on Friday morning in presence of party leaders, office bearers and BJP central observer.
Interacting with the media, Wahge while thanking all party leaders and supporters on the occasion also thanked the party high command for giving him the responsibility to look after the party in the state. “I shall work for strengthening the party organizational structure with full dedication following the party ideology-Sab ka Sath, sab ka Vikas,” Wahge said, adding that he is confident to transform the party and lead more than two lakh registered BJP members across the state.
Wahge had led the party in the capacities of Yuva Morcha President, twice as State General Secretary and had also represented the State BJP in several national executive meetings, seminars and other programmes at national level.
