A group of prominent artists from both the states are expected to perform during the event with a mission to boost relationship between the sister states for the purpose of peaceful co-existence, Coordinator of the event, Penya Bagra said here on Wednesday. Nephew of the music maestro, Rishiraj Sarma, who is a name by himself has also consented to perform in the event. Former journalist of the Indian Express, Samudra Gupta Kashyap will be the convener.
“Dr Bhupen Hazarika was one among the pioneers in strengthening the age-old relationship between the people of Arunachal and Assam. His instrument for social change was music and songs and he used this tool so effectively that there is hardly any soul across the region in general and the two states in particular who do not naturally hum a Bhupen Hazarika song in his or her subconscious state,” Bagra said.
