NAHARLAGUN, Nov 8: With the finalization of tender process in connection with the construction of India’s third Film Institute at Jollang-Rakap in Papum Pare district and followed by a traditional
‘Bhumi Puja’, a ceremony symbolic of pre-construction custom at the institute site on Friday, the stage is now finally set for construction of this much-awaited educational institute at the 253 acre area.
In a function attended in large number by all Gaon Buras and leaders of the adjoining areas, contractor of KK Construction Hu Tatu, appealed villagers to extend every possible support in smooth undertaking of the project and also assured to complete the 128 crore project in two years record time. Professor A Dutta, a faculty of Satyajit Ray Institute of Film and Television Institute, Kolkata, while highlighting the significance of the up-coming institute, said that it will produce and nurture talented local youths in the fields of cinematography, sound and lighting engineering, direction and other related subjects. Participating in the event, Director IPR Obang Tayeng said that state government is taking every possible step for early construction of the project. Congratulating the people on the occasion, he also called upon them to be a part of the project and help in building a great institute in the entire country.
Officers of various wings of CPWD including Executive Engineer Rohit Meena also participated and assured to complete the project with active support of the people. DIPRO
