YINGKIONG, Nov 19: The Upper Siang district administration on Saturday organized Beti Bachao Beti Padhao awareness camp at Gelling, the last border village of India. The programme was graced by Circle Officer K. Bath and Medical Officer Dr. Mize.
Speaking on the occasion, Bath appealed to the public to give importance to girls’ education. Similarly, Dr. Mize highlighted various schemes implemented by the government for girls besides the provisions of PC&PNDT Act.
The awareness camp was attended by the staff of Women & Child Development Department, Anganwadi workers and helpers as well as staff of Education Department and the public. The programme was organized under the supervision of Tiluttama Taki, CDPO, Singa-Gelling. More than 60 participants attended.
