Roing, Jul 7: A felicitation programme to present the Best Self Help Group Award in the district and provide SHGs with loans sanctioned by the APRB, Roing branch was held today at the Anchal Samity Hall, Roing by ArSRLM, BMMU, Roing and the Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank, Roing.
The Sirung SHG, Ruth SHG, Lune Ponung SHG, Ome Birme SHG, Jena SHG, Aayame SHG, Khinusha SHG, Ane Sirum SHG, Aduya Miya SHG, Ajime SHG, Arsang SHG, Liksum Ane SHG, Giiyi SHG, Nyamne SHG and Pasi SHG were awarded with a citation and ` 1 lakh each as recognition of their achievements and excellent work in promoting livelihood activities in the district by ArSRLM.
Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom congratulating the SHGs on their achievement, praised them for creating opportunities for themselves of economic independence and empowerment and working beyond the confines and duties of the family and household.
She also appreciated ArSRLM for giving meaning and direction to the women of the area through livelihood activities and praised the APRB for being proactive in helping the rural folk by providing small loans to SHGs and farmers. 
The change in mindset,confidence, excellent performance and good track record in management of funds has changed the view of the banks in providing loans to SHGs and the government providing full support in future endeavours is a testimony of the hard work, will and sincerity shown by SHG members, stated the the DC.
BMM (ArSRLM) William Lahary informed about the achievements of ArSRLM in the Roing Koronu C D block and aid and loans provided by the government to the SHGs.
He also expressed his satisfaction over the waning dependence of the SHGs on the government, which is the ultimate aim of the programme.
APRB Branch Manager PB Chettry spoke on the training provided to the SHGs on the loan process, management of funds and repayment system. He added that the bank has a mission to provide door to door banking to the poor and needy rural population and so will start 18 CSPs shortly in the district. He also informed that loans to 31 SHGs have been approved by the bank.
