YUPIA, May 28: Deputy Commissioner Papum Pare district, Dr. Joram Beda attended a video conference at  DC office Yupia today wherein Prime Minister interacted with the women beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana of all districts in the country through video conference and highlighted the benefits of using LPG over traditional fuels such as firewood, dried cow dung cakes etc.

The Yojana aims at reducing the use of polluting fuels by providing free LPG connections to the poor households and improving health, economic safety and empowerment of women.

On the occasion, the DC also urged the beneficiaries to spread awareness of the benefits of the scheme and directed the nodal officers to make efforts to increase coverage of beneficiaries under the scheme. Three women beneficiaries the district who have been provided free LPG connection under PMUY also attended the video conference in Yupia.

Presently, 572 beneficiaries have been provided free LPG connections under PMUY in Papum Pare district (Rural).
