LIKABALI (Nari), Jul 4: While resenting the inaction of the district administration to their various demands, the Galo Students’ Union (GSU) in association with Ramle Banggo Youth Forum (RBYF) and Ramle Banggo Students' Union (RBSU) have called for a 24-hours in New Seren Circle of Lower Siang district on July 13.
The 24-hour bandh will be from 5 AM of July 13 to 5 AM of July 14. This was stated in a letter submitted to the Deputy Commissioner Lower Siang district by the pressure groups on Friday.
Terming inaction of administration as indifferent and negligent, the organisations said they have been urging the district administration for months now to direct the executing agency to maintain New Seren to Old Deka Rural Link Road (RLR) as an all weather road.
It claimed the RLR construction which began in the year 2016 has remained incomplete. It urgently needs to be maintained during the pandemic times as travelling through Dhemaji (Assam) district is restricted by the district administration and the state government.
