Namsai, Feb 27: Valedictory function for trainees under Green Skill Development Programme who completed the 400-hour ‘Certificate Course on Value Addition and Marketing of NTFPs (Plant Origin): Bamboo Craft’ was organised here at the Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) on February 26 last.  
The course was conducted by Arunachal Environmental Information System (ENVIS) Hub, Department of Environment & Forests in collaboration with AUS with fund support from Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change.
Director of Science & Technology and Skill Development Programme Coordinator Dr. Rani Jha gave details of the GSDP programme. She elaborated on initiation, propagation and current status of the programme & trainees and the success stories wherein most of the trainees are now working commercially.
Deputy Director, Environment and ENVIS Coordinator, Department of Environment and Forest D. Dohu Robin congratulated the entire team of Bamboo Crafts at AUS for the enormous work achieved during the short training period and spoke about future collaborations with the university. He encouraged trainees to work hard and remain in touch so that they can be hired by ENVIS projects in future.
Deputy Director, National Bamboo Mission, Arunachal Pradesh Bamboo Resource Development Agency (APBRDA) Dr. G. Murtem shared ideas of taking the bamboo project further by newer funding under Environment and Climate Change schemes of the state. (Dept. of E&F PR)
