Pasighat, Oct 15: Bakin Pertin General Hospital & Training Centre, (BPGH&TC), the century-old medical institute of the state has once again stood first in the District Hospital Category under central government’s Kayakalp Scheme for 2018-19 for maintaining cleanliness within the institute premises and showing dedication towards Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Earlier, the hospital was adjudged the best in the state for exemplary performance in adhering to standard protocols of cleanliness and infection control and was conferred with the prestigious Kayakalp Award 2015-16. National Felicitation of Kayakalp Awardees 2018-19 was held at the Stein Auditorium of India Habitat Centre at the national capital on October 11 last and the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan felicitated the Joint Director of Health Services (T&R) Pasighat, Dr Dukhum Raina by presenting the Kayakalp Memento and Citation. The Award also included Rs 50 lakhs as cash incentives intended for further improvement of the institution. While acknowledging the team effort of the sanitary, MTS, nursing, paramedical, office & teaching staff along with doctors, HA-PTT & nursing students for bringing laurel to the institution in particular and the state in general, Dr Raina reiterated that BPGH&TC, Pasighat has already set a benchmark and it should be the goal of every public healthcare facility in state to attain and maintain the desired levels of cleanliness. MoS (HFW) Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Secretary (Health) Preeti Sudan and Chairman (NABH) Dr. B.K Rao were also present on the occasion along with the representatives from other states and UTs.
Kayakalp Award was instituted as part of 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' in May, 2015 as a national initiative to recognize and felicitate public healthcare facilities that demonstrate high levels of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control measures. DIPRO
