PANAJI, Apr 3: The Annual General Meeting of Badminton Association of India (BAI) was held here at Goa today. The AGM also finalized venue of various tournaments and yearly calendar of BAI for the year 2018-19. Chairing the AGM, BAI President Dr. Himanta Bisaw Sarma announced rupees Five lakhs to each state Associations per year for development of badminton across the country, rupees Ninety Lakhs as prizes money for all BAI ranking calendar tournaments besides, rupees One crore for players welfare fund respectively which is first of its kind in the history of BAI.
Meanwhile, Dr Sarma have been re-elected unanimously as the President along with Ajay Singhania, as the new Secretary General,. Ratu Techi and Bamang Tago have been elected as Vice President and Executive Member respectively.
