ITANAGAR, Feb 24: 

 

Expressing deep shock and condoling the unfortunate incident that led to the death of an  Engineering student Katem Dai at Guwahati, the father of the alleged accused Rajen Tachang, Natung Tachang today said that he and his family have no words to comfort the family of late Dai who was like a son to them.

 

‘My family and I from the core of our heart pay condolence to the departed soul and to the family for their loss,’ he added.

 

Terming it an ‘accidental death’, he urged the people not to paint the unfortunate incident as pre-planned or give it a communal colour. As per the CCTV footage and the statement of college authority it is clear that it was an ‘accidental death’, asserted the father in a press statement.

 

He further appealed the media to refrain from calling his son a murderer and to report both sides of the story to let the public know about the facts leading to the incident.

 

‘Let the people know the truth and facts of the causes leading to the accidental death because one precious life is also waiting to be heard judiciously in Central Jail Guwahati,’ Natung said.

 

Meanwhile, he also refuted a disturbing video going viral in social networking site claiming it as the video of the same incident. ‘The said video is fake and has no connection with the incident that occurred on SITM,’ clarified the father.
