ITANAGAR, Sep 23: The Department of Health & Family Welfare, observed the 11th Ayurveda Day Celebration today at the Ayurveda & Panchakarma Polyclinic, Ray Building, Zoo Road, Itanagar. The theme for this year’s Ayurveda Day was “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow”, focusing on promoting active, dignified and independent ageing through Ayurveda.
The event witnessed the participation of a large gathering comprising officers and officials of the Health & Family Welfare Department, Ayurveda & Panchakarma Polyclinic, Itanagar, Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), Itanagar, Government Ayurvedic Pharmacy, Arunachal Pradesh Indian Medicine Council (APIMC), State Drug Testing Laboratory (SDTL), and members of the general public.
Delivering the welcome address, Dr. I. Lingu, DDHS (Ayus)-cum-DLA (A, S & U), highlighted the importance and relevance of Ayurveda in promoting holistic health and well-being.
In his address, Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Naba Kumar Bazbaruah, Dean-cum-Director, Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS), highlighted the importance of adopting AYUSH/Ayurveda as a way of life for achieving overall well-being. He stated that the practice of Ayurveda and other AYUSH systems can contribute to reducing stress, improving mobility, strengthening muscles and enhancing the overall quality of life. He encouraged the participants to incorporate appropriate Ayurvedic practices into their daily routines for a healthier, happier and more balanced life.
The Guest of Honour, Dr. Gurucharan Bhuyan, Assistant Director, Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), Itanagar, acknowledged the importance of Ayurveda and briefly highlighted the history and significance of the ancient system of medicine. He urged the general public and participants to embrace Ayurveda as part of their daily lives for promoting holistic health and well-being.
The programme concluded with mass distribution of medicinal plants to the public and Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Dojum Boje, SMO,In charge Ayurveda & Panchakarma Polyclinic to all the participants.
